Terms and Conditions of Sale
Swedish Blonde is now part of a full retail concept, St. Barths Home. Built on the foundation of our much-loved Swedish Gustavian home furnishings, we have carefully selected bath, tabletop, garden and other accessories and furniture. We offer classic European home furnishings with a timeless modern sensibility. DESIGN, MANUFACTURING & FINISHING
The furniture designs of The Swedish Blonde Collection are primarily based on the traditional Gustavian style, as well as the works and inspiration of Carl Larsson. Ann Millang, President and founder of SBC, works closely with talented designers in Scandinavia to interpret this style for the North American home furnishings market. Swedish Blonde furniture is manufactured in Sweden. Solid wood and furniture-quality veneers of beech, birch, pine, maple and alder are used to provide a durable, high-quality product with uniformly consistent appearance.
Swedish Blonde furniture is offered in 3 standard finishes (as of January 1, 2007);
Ivory (code #51), Nordic White (code #44) and Gustavian Gray (code #53).
Nordic White is the only finish that does NOT feature a distressed or antiqued look (i.e. a hand-rubbed "sand-through" on the edges & highlight points, combined with a fine "flyspecking"). To assure the best match, purchase all pieces for one client on one order. Swedish Blonde furniture is not sold unfinished, with the rare exception of selected chair models. UPHOLSTERY
The headboard and footboard panels on the Ingrid Beds and Rose Daybed are covered in white linen. Velcro and screws are used to secure these panels, making them easily removable by the customer for the purpose of re-covering with different fabric. The chair and ottoman seat cushions are covered in muslin, and shipped from St. Barths Home unattached to the frames. The Drottningholm Sofa, Emma Chair, Gripsholm Chair and Gripsholm Ottoman are sold C.O.M. (covered in Customer's Own Material). St. Barths Home will arrange for the upholstery work to be done in Sweden prior to shipment to the customer. The list prices for these three items already include all labor charges for springing and upholstery. DELIVERYTIME TABLES & SHIPPING PROCEDURES

We warrant that Swedish Blonde furniture and accessories leave our dock in good condition, having been inspected prior to packing. Extra packing materials are used to cushion and protect the product as it is transported. Freight damages are the responsibility of the shipping firm/transfer company/freight carrier. Under no circumstances will St. Barths Home and/or Swedish Blonde be held liable for damage to merchandise after it has left the dock of our finishing/packing facility. Effective receiving involves the careful inspection of goods upon receipt. A good receiver should uncrate, inspect, and note any damages, shortages and overages on the accompanying Bill of Lading.
A receiver assumes liability for the products that are received on your behalf. Establish guidelines with your receiver, and contracts to enforce them, to insure that goods are properly received on your behalf. Set guidelines according to the following:
1) Products must be inspected before the Bill of Lading is signed. No claims will be honored by St. Barths Home or any freight company if the Bill of Lading has been signed clean. By signing the Bill of Lading, you are accepting the goods in the condition that they were received. Prior to letting the truck driver leave your delivery address, clearly write as complete a description of the damage as possible on the Bill of Lading. Also note any missing pieces or hardware.
2) If upon inspection damages are found, a freight claim must be made in writing -accompanied by a copy of the Bill of Lading. It is strongly recommended that photographs be taken of the box and all damaged areas on the furniture item. In addition, you should always contact the freight carrier's business office immediately upon receipt of any damaged goods, in order to obtain their instructions for promptly filing a claim. We strongly encourage all customers to request that an inspector from the freight carrier inspect the damaged goods to assess the validity of the claim. Freight claims are the responsibility of the carrier, not St. Barths Home Inc. You or your receiver must file a claim to the responsible carrier. Reimbursement will be made directly to you. If damage has occurred but the Bill of Lading has been signed clean, the Receiver accepts the responsibility for such damage and repair thereof. St. Barths home Inc. assumes no liability in such cases.
3) Any factory flaws must be noted on the Bill of Lading and all claims made in writing to St. Barths Home Inc. St. Barths Home reserves the right to have goods inspected by a St. Barths Home representative or independent inspector to assess the value of repair or replacement thereof. PAYMENT TERMS
A deposit amounting to 50 % of the total order is required. Until this deposit is received by St. Barths Home, the transaction is merely viewed as a "booking" - in contrast to a firm "order" for which a deposit has been received. It is expected the deposit will be received within fifteen (15) days from the date a "booking" has been communicated (by fax, purchase order, E-mail message or telephone) to St. Barths Home. Deposits may be made via business check, or wire transfer. Unless written approval by the St. Barths Home office has been given to a customer for 15- or 30-day payment terms, the remaining balance due on an order must be paid in full prior to shipping. CANCELLATIONS
A fee of 10% will be retained by St. Barths Home in the event an order is cancelled following receipt of the deposit and commencement of the order fulfillment process. If custom colors have already been applied, or hand painting procedures have started, an amount equal to the additional stated charges for those customization services will be retained by St. Barths Home in addition to the cancellation fee. The remaining deposit balance will be returned to the customer of record (i.e. the person or entity originally paying the deposit to St. Barths Home) within fifteen (15) business days from the date of cancellation.
